Life Styles Inventory (LSI)

The Life Styles Inventory (LSI) identifies the underlying thoughts and motivations that guide an individual's behaviour.

LSI, often referred to as personal styles, management styles and leadership styles, these represent the essence of an individual's effectiveness.

The quality of an individual's thinking and behaviour contributes greatly to that person's work performance. Fortunately, your people have the power to change ineffective thinking and behaviour - the kind that can paralyse an individual's effectiveness.

But first they need to know if what they're doing now is supporting or detracting from quality performance.

The InsideOut model of team effectiveness:

This model measures the level of clarity and agreement that there is in the team of their:

  • Purpose, Values, Vision, Goals, Procedures and Roles.

Team Trust Level – each team members perception of the level of trust across the team.

Positive Psychology

Positive psychology is a new branch of psychology which focuses on the empirical study of such things as positive emotions, strengths-based character and healthy institutions.

Martin Seligman has demonstrated that it is possible to be happier, to feel more satisfied, to be more engaged with life, find more meaning and to build resilience to external challenges. This resilience is a massive benefit in the uncertainty that results from continual change and the ups and downs of life. Positive psychology has also been shown to decrease symptoms of depression.

Using this approach does not negate what needs attention, but enhances performance and engagement by harnessing strengths while managing around weaknesses.

Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

The purpose of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI) personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and useful in people’s lives.

The essence of the theory is that much seemingly random variation in the behaviour is actually quite orderly and consistent, being due to basic differences in the ways individuals prefer to use their perception and judgment.

MBTI is a valuable tool used by A1 to build awareness and to maximise diversity in communication, problem solving and rapport building.

  • DiSC behaviour diagnostic is also available to build behavioural awareness for individual.

Situational Leadership

Situational leadership theories in organizational studies are a type of leadership theory, leadership style, and leadership model that presumes that different leadership styles are better in different situations, and that leaders must be flexible enough to adapt their style to the situation they are in.

A good situational leader is one who can quickly change leadership styles as the situation changes. Most of us attempt to do this in our dealings with people: we try not to get angry with a new employee, and we remind forgetful people. The model doesn't apply only to people in leadership or management positions; all people lead others at work, at play, and at home.

A1 consultants are able to use this model to fine tune the practical approach to being a more effective leader.
